Perseverance

"Victory belongs to the most persevering." So said Napoleon, likely while he was compensating for his stature in some way. For the past two years I have worked incredibly hard to maintain a high GPA and establish myself as a student worth investing in, a student worth having at any area university. Because of this hard work I have been invited to join Phi Theta Kappa, a nearly-100 year old honor society for two-year colleges modeled after the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa for 4-year institutions. Just yesterday I was also asked to submit an application to the Philanthropic Educational Organization for an invitation-only grant for next year to put toward my school expenses. These events have served as a reminder to me that eventually, hard work pays off. I have been foregoing social events and have hardly made time to chat with friends, but now I know that I am getting something in return for that investment.

The last couple of weeks have presented me with some disappointments with regards to my photography, but it's made me rethink what direction I truly want to take it. I want to do something that not only allows me to use my creativity and expand my portfolio, but also make a positive impact on the lives of others. It isn't going to be easy and it will take some time to work out all of the details, but with perseverance I know that this new project will be successful and fulfilling. As details get worked out and progress is made, I will reveal some of the details and ask for feedback. Until then, I hope you all have something worth persevering for!
