This Weekend's Happy Couples

I had the pleasure of photographing two couples (and one very cute baby) this weekend. The first portrait session took place at the Ken Caryl Ranch House in Littleton. Alicia and Justin are engaged to be married next June (I'll be shooting their wedding!) and I have had the sincere pleasure of also doing their maternity portraits and little Kennedy's newborn portraits. I have to say, I prefer outdoor sessions to indoor, studio-style shots any day of the week and this session was the perfect example of why. Look at this deliciously happy family!

It was such a beautiful day, perfect for portraits. After a trek home to freshen up and nap a little, I headed closer to downtown Denver to photograph some friends who just got married, Vaida and Donatas. We did the shoot at Washington Park, which was just teeming with people taking advantage of one of our last mild weekends of the year before winter sets in. It isn't fair that Lithuanians are so gorgeous.
Are her eyes not the most amazing you've ever seen? It's like there's a light on behind them!

Not to be left out, I did a family session last week that I never got around to sharing. The session took place at South Platte Park in Littleton. It was overcast all morning, which any photographer will tell you is a blessing when it comes to portraits, especially portrait sessions involving children that don't always look on the direction of the best light! Here are Ben, Jamie, and Alex. Such a wonderful family.

I am in full-on "promote my business" mode now. I'm eager to continue growing as a photographer. My plan is to get to a point where I can stop working part-time at night by this time next year in order to give myself the ability to focus solely on my family, my photography, and school. I love photography immensely and being able to learn something new with each new shoot. Here's to the next several months of figuring out how to make it all work for me!
